Postdoc position in Federated Learning
The Machine Learning and the Parallel Computing research groups (University of Turin) are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with experience in Federated Learning and Parallel Computing. Applications are invited from candidates with a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related fields (e.g., Physics, Math, …). Candidates are expected to have research expertise, especially in the fields of Machine Learning (better if they have specific experience in Federated Learning) or Parallel Computing (i.e., we are seeking candidates that either have experience in both fields or have experience in one of the two fields and are willing to build experience in the other one).
Research topics: Federated learning, swarm learning
Description: The research will be framed within the activities of “The European PILOT” project. The work will focus on developing SW libraries to support distributed training and inference of DNNs and feature extraction algorithms for video-based applications. The work will require a working knowledge of python and python deep learning libraries (specifically: PyTorch and Tensorflow). The selection will be based on a CV and a remote interview. The position is for 2+2 years. The initial gross salary will range between 27k-33k euro per year before taxes (roughly equivalent to a salary varying between 1.6K and 2K euro per month after taxes).
For further information and to apply please contact Roberto Esposito (roberto.esposito AT unito.it). The positions will remain open until they are assigned.

Tenure tracks (associate professor)
In the year 2021-22, the Computer Science department of the University of Torino will open 6 tenure track positions for associate professors in Computer Science. The selection will happen by way of a competitive call for applications to be periodically released (the first call closed on May 10, 2021 – others will be opened soon). Despite not strictly required, the Italian National habilitation (or any equivalent title) is welcome. Candidates working in the area of Parallel Computing, HPC, and Federated Learning are invited to contact marco.aldinucci AT unito.it
